Best Pancakes or Waffles

Use this batter for fluffy pancakes or waffles. No more weird lumpy batter just smooth batter that cooks up fluffy.

  • Prep: 15 minutes

  • Total time: a few minutes per pancake or waffle

Ingredients

makes ~8 pancakes or waffles

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon white sugar

  • 1 ½ cups milk

  • 1 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 1 large egg

  • blueberries (optional) or chocolate chips (optional)

makes ~16 pancakes or waffles

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

  • 2 tablespoon white sugar

  • 3 cups milk

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 2 large egg

  • blueberries (optional) or chocolate chips (optional)

makes ~32 pancakes or waffles

  • 6 cups all-purpose flour

  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

  • 4 tablespoon white sugar

  • 6 cups milk

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 4 large egg

  • blueberries (optional) or chocolate chips (optional)

Batter-Up

  • Put all the dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.

  • Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients.

  • Mix with a hand mixer or whisk until smooth.

Directions for Cooking Pancakes

  1. Pre-heat a non-stick frying pan. On our stove choose setting 4.

  2. Pour 1/4 cup of batter into the frying pan. Cook until the pancake is golden brown on the bottom and bubbles form on the top. Flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.

    Tip

    Optional flavours - To make blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes, add the blueberries or chocolate chips to the batter in the 1/4 cup. Pour this mixture into the frying pan.

  3. Goto step 1 until you run out of batter.

Directions for Cooking Waffles

  1. Pre-heat the waffle iron.

  2. Using a 1 cup measuring cup, pour batter into the waffle iron. Cook until the waffle is golden brown and crispy.

    Tip

    Optional flavours - To make blueberry or chocolate chip waffles, add the blueberries or chocolate chips to the batter in the measuring cup. Pour this mixture into the waffle iron.

  3. Goto step 1 until you run out of batter.
